Rex Brown, 69, born in Hornell NY

Rex Brown of Trenton, Florida passed away June 1st, 2023 at the hospital in Gainesville, Florida after a long battle with cancer. He was born at Bethesda Hospital in Hornell, NY on July 5th, 1953. He was well known for his tenacity in his search for arrowheads and other artifacts. He spent many hours digging and developed many friendships along the way.

He traveled to many areas, camping along the way, including Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico and South America. Rex was his own person and stood his ground, even when he should have learned to back down.

He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Betty Brown and one brother, Josh Brown. Rex was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, Jerry Van Dyke. He is survived by two sisters, Paula Van Dyke of Belvidere, NY and Joy Stuart of Almond; two brothers, Steve Brown of Greensburg, KY and Jack Brown of West Almond. Rex is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes there were no services. May he rest in peace.
