HORNELL — As events were canceled from Buffalo to the Southern Tier, only one mention of a cancelation drew laughter.

The Hornell St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

A pandemic may have stopped things, but weather would not. After all, a parade with no rules is going to be a parade with no rules.

The one rule though has been to laugh and enjoy the wild floats. However, there are also some well-designed floats, youth groups, civic organizations and talented musicians and bands.

Hornell Mayor John Buckley rode in a city truck in the parade and he appointed, for the second time, Mrs. Carolyn Kuhn Kelly as the Hornell Grand Marshall. Kelly is involved in several community groups including the AOH.
