Steuben County Sheriff reports two recent arrests

Both arrests included imprisonment and other violent crimes

Aggravated Family Offense, Criminal Contempt, Unlawful Imprisonment, Controlled Substance Arrest. K-9 “Mac” makes the stop!!

March 28, 2022 Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on March 26, 2022, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Garrett S. Ragusa, age 27, of Hamilton Road, Thurston, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Ragusa did forcibly detain another person who was the protected person in a duly issued order of protection and possessed a quantity of suspected methamphetamine while on Hamilton Road, Thurston, New York. Mr. Ragusa allegedly attempted to run from deputies when advised of his authorized arrest, but stopped when K-9 Mac was about to be released for assistance.

It is also alleged that Mr. Ragusa was currently on parole. Mr. Ragusa was charged with Aggravated Family Offense, a class E Felony, Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree. Mr. Ragusa was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and held pending his Parole Recognizance Hearing. Sheriff Allard thanks the NYS DOCCS/Parole for their assistance in this arrest.

Assault, Imprisonment, Menacing, Criminal Mischief Arrest

March 28, 2022 Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on March 26, 2022, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Andrew S. Crosson, age 32, of LPGA Drive, Corning, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Crosson did forcibly detain another person, threaten and cause physical injury to that person and damage property while on LPGA Drive, Corning, New York. Mr. Crosson was charged with Assault in the Third Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Menacing in the Third Degree. Mr. Crosson was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and held in lieu of one dollar bail. Sheriff Allard thanks the City of Corning Police for their assistance in this arrest.
