Jan Talbatt is really excited about the big auction this weekend at Whitesville Central School. So excited that she donated a flight aboard one of the most famous planes to survive D-Day, “Whiskey 7.” Talbatt, who has a granddaughter graduating in 2023 explains:

“I’m donating a plane ride on Whiskey 7, the 2nd WW11 plane into Normandy with the 82nd airborne. My dad was in the 82nd and part of Normandy, so I’m honoring him that way. Personally, I’m going to buy a ton of tickets in hopes to win that myself, lol.”

The Class of 2023 has some other great prizes to entice the public to make the trip to Whitesville this weekend.

The National Comedy Center in Jamestown NY, has donated pairs of tickets for not only the center, but also the Lucy and Dezi museum. The Clemen’s Center, in Elmira NY, has donated box seats to Fiddler on the Roof. A package of rafting and camping on Pine Creek in Pennsylvania is a big deal also. Genesee Valley Coal and Pellet has donated many bags of Bear Mountain BBQ pellets. Standard community auction items like gift certificates, baskets, and, as Jan describes, “just all around cool stuff.”

Food and drink will be available at the auction both days for those who like to eat while they auction. For those on the run, you need not be present to win.

Talbatt explains that the Class of 2023 is trying to overcome the lack of fundraising efforts over the last two years with Covid-19. The class of 14 kids will need to work harder as they become seniors but are confident the community will support them.

Tell the WWII buff, or the I Love Lucy fan in your life about this chance to win some dreamy prizes and help the class of 2023 succeed.
