The Zissis Family has operated the landmark restaurant for four decades

Hornell Partners for Growth is excited to announce that the New York State Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation has officially added Hornell’s “Texas Café” to the Historic Business Preservation Registry.  The online registry was established to honor and promote New York businesses that have been in operation for at least 50 years and have contributed to their communities’ history.

The Texas Café, is a family owned and operated restaurant, run by Tina Zissis, Diane Zissis, & Sue Zissis Prior, daughters to Peter & Chrysanthe Zissis who have passed away.  The restaurant is located at 29 Broadway Mall, has been in business for 103 Years and was nominated by Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes.
