COVID-19 update, HIV testing, lead poisoning, and free summer meals in Corning

COVID-19

We’re continuing the downward trend in Steuben with 82 new COVID cases reported since last Monday! This is great news with the 4th of July holiday coming up. It is still recommended that you test if you have symptoms, after an exposure and after travel to continue to protect others.

HIV testing information

Include HIV testing as part of your self-care routine. Knowing your status gives you powerful information to help you and partners stay healthy. Learn more about HIV testing options and schedule today at https://www.cdc.gov/stophivtogether/hiv-testing/index.html or call our partners who offer testing locally: @Finger Lakes Community Health and Planned Parenthood of Greater New York

Lead poisoning prevention

As kids spend more time playing this summer, remember to take steps to protect them from lead poisoning. The biggest risk factors tend to be in paint in homes built before 1978 and in the soil. Learn more at https://www.cdc.gov/…/how-to-prevent-lead-poisoning-in…

Were your kids tested for lead at ages 1 and 2? Make sure to schedule an appointment with your primary care if they’re due.
