EMS services responded to over 13 calls per day on average last month

Mayor Buckley recognized the Hornell Fire Department for their outstanding Emergency Medical Services (EMS) response at the December Board of Public Safety meeting.

The Fire Department responded to 398 EMS calls for the month of November 2022, a new monthly record.  High call volume has been consistent through the year as the department has already eclipsed the 3724 total calls for 2021, ending the month of November with 3862 year-to-date calls.

“The Hornell Fire Department provides top-notch EMS services to the City of Hornell and numerous neighboring municipalities throughout our area. Their record call volume indicates the critical role they provide to the community.  With the health care system struggling, particularly evident in rural areas, the work of the Hornell Fire Department is remarkable. We commend the hard work they do every day,” stated Mayor Buckley.
