Road rage in Rathbone, burglars busted, and criminal contempt

July 26, 2023 Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Grand Larceny and Criminal Mischief Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on July 26, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sunni M. Clark, age 45, of South Main Street, Elmira, New York. It is alleged that in January 2023, Ms. Clark stole and possessed a vehicle in Avoca and subsequently caused damage to it in Lindley. Ms. Clark was charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a Class E Felony, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in the Third Degree. Ms. Clark was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded without bail.

July 27, 2023 Criminal Contempt and Aggravated Family Offense Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on July 25, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jeremy A. Harrison, age 37, of Bath, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Harrison violated a duly served order of protection while in the Village of Savona. It is further alleged that Mr. Harrison was previously convicted of Criminal Contempt within the past five years. Mr. Harrison was charged with Aggravated Family Offense, a Class E Felony and Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree. Mr. Harrison was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $500 bail.

July 28, 2023 Burglary and Grand Larceny Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on July 27, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Miranda B. Elwell, age 29, of Howe Street, Prattsburgh, New York. It is alleged that in March of 2023, Ms. Elwell entered or remained unlawfully in a dwelling and stole property valued in excess of three thousand dollars in Prattsburgh. Ms. Elwell was charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony, and Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony. Ms. Elwell was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.

Criminal Contempt, Criminal Mischief and Endangering a Child Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on July 29, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Zack R. Smith, age 30, of Smith Pond Road, Avoca, New York. It is alleged that Mr. Smith violated a duly served order of protection, damaged property and acted in a manner likely to be injurious to a child during a domestic incident in Avoca. Mr. Smith was charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Mr. Smith was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.

Burglary, Criminal Contempt, Menacing and Possession of a Weapon Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on July 30, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Anthony M. Carpenter, age 26, of County Route 46, Arkport, New York, in response to a report of a person threatening another with a gun in the Town of Dansville. It is alleged that Mr. Carpenter violated a duly served order of protection, entered or remained unlawfully in a dwelling and placed a person in fear of injury by threatening them with a weapon. Mr. Carpenter was charged with Burglary in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, a Class E Felony, Menacing in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. Mr. Carpenter was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and held in lieu of $500 cash bail.

Reckless Endangerment and Criminal Mischief Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on July 30, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lisa M. Caslin, age 49, of County Route 21, Rathbone, New York, in response to a report of a road rage incident in the Town of Rathbone. It is alleged that Ms. Caslin intentionally damaged the property of another and recklessly endangered that person. Ms. Caslin was charged with Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, a Class D Felony and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, a Class E Felony. Ms. Caslin was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.
