New York State Police report Avoca stabbing after roommates fight

On September 3, 2023, at approximately 10:40 p.m., the New York State Police in Bath responded to 8077 Bauter Road in the town of Avoca for a report of a stabbing.  Upon arrival, law enforcement located two injured males, 55-year-old Richard M. Randall and 49-year-old Adam W. Rounds. Investigation revealed a physical altercation took place at the residence between the two males, who are roommates. During the altercation, both Randall and Rounds sustained knife wound injuries.  Rounds was transported by ambulance to Noyes Memorial Hospital and later to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.  Randall was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released for non-life-threatening injuries.  

Randall was arrested for Assault 2nd (D Felony). Randall was transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment and remanded to the Steuben County Jail with no bail.  

The New York State Police were assisted at the scene by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Bath Ambulance, Bath AMR, and Avoca Fire Department.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
