“I pledge to continue to work to improve the quality of life in Hornell”
Hornell, NY – James M. Bassage Sr. (R, C, I – 8th Ward) is seeking re-election for a seventh term as 8th Ward Alderman in the City of Hornell. Bassage stated, “I am excited to announce that I am seeking another term representing Hornell’s 8th Ward at City Hall. These past twelve years on the City Council have been rewarding as I feel I have successfully advocated for the 8th Ward residents to resolve their issues and effectively present their concerns.”
Working with the other City Council members has been a key for success. Bassage stated, “I believe we have and are continuing to improve the quality of life in the City of Hornell and I pledge to continue to work to improve the quality of life in Hornell.”
Three major focuses for this term on the Common Council will be continuing to:
- Work with the Codes Office to identify and address blight issues in the 8th Ward and city
- Work for street and infrastructure improvements
- Support law enforcement efforts to address drug issues to ensure safe and secure neighborhoods
“I believe I have developed a good rapport with the other City Council members and Department Heads at City Hall and together we have been successful in improving the quality of life in the 8th Ward and the City of Hornell. My continued efforts to work with the codes office is paying off as we are identifying vacant properties and working to eliminate blight in the 8th ward. I look forward to the opportunity to continue to represent the 8th Ward residents at City Hall,” said Bassage.
