“The 6th Ward is filled with many great people!”

By Lita Brown, 6th Ward Alderwoman

It has been a privilege representing the residents of the 6th Ward over the past year, and I am excited to run for my first full term as alderwoman. These past few months, I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you while knocking on doors and I quickly learned the 6th Ward is filled with many great people!

During my visits, I’ve listened closely to concerns, and have held conversations that will help guide me when serving and advocating for 6th Ward residents on the Common Council. If elected, I pledge to:

Reliable Representation: Ensure that your voices are heard at the Common Council meetings by providing strong, dependable representation.

-Affordability and Services: Work to keep Hornell one of the most affordable places to live in New York State, while continuing to provide top-notch services.

-Quality of Life: Facilitate connecting residents with the appropriate City Department to address concerns and continue to improve quality of life.

-Community Safety:  Partner with public safety to keep our community and our streets safe for all.

Hornell has been my home for 12 years, with seven of those being in the 6th Ward. I live, work, and am raising my family right here in our neighborhood. My role as Prevention Educator for the Hornell Area Concern for Youth has given me a deep understanding of the needs of our neighborhood, and the broader Hornell community.

I appreciate all of the feedback and support I have received while serving this term and getting to know you all better over the past few months. I hope that 6th Ward residents will cast their vote for me, Lita Brown, to continue serving as your alderwoman this November.
