50th Anniversary of the tragic death of Hornell Police Officer Sgt. Daniel Swift memorial planned

A monument will be unveiled in Union Square Park October 28

The public is invited to the noon ceremony

In 1973 Swift was killed by a underage drunk driver in Hornell. According to “Officer Down Memorial Page,” the same driver attempted to murder another Hornell Police Department officer four years later and was sent to prison.
