BATH –The Steuben County Sheriff and the Steuben Prevention Coalition Opioid Committee report more than 81 pounds of expired, unwanted, and unused prescription medications were collected Saturday at the biannual “Drug Prescription Take Back” collection.

The event was held in recognition of  the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)’s national campaign.

The illegal use of prescription drugs casts a wide net of public safety related issues and offer loved ones a chance to fight substance abuse at home, officials said.
