“Emergency medical services are essential for saving lives in rural communities, and I am thrilled to announce this significant investment in the Springwater-Wayland Emergency Medical Services in Steuben County,” said Congressman Langworthy. “The $50,000 grant, accompanied by a $162,000 loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development program, will enable the crucial replacement of an ambulance, ensuring that our local emergency responders have the necessary resources to provide timely and effective care to residents in need.”

“Our agency is very happy to have been awarded this grant and loan package — it will allow us to continue to provide quality emergency services to our community,” said Sue Walker, President of the Board of Directors for Springwater-Wayland Emergency Medical Services. “As we are an all-volunteer organization, we rely on grant funding and generous community support to provide this service in northern Steuben County.
