Major Upsets in Academic All-Stars Competition

STEUBEN COUNTY- There were some major upsets in All-Stars competition on Monday night.
In the Large School division Hornell had their first loss of the season, going down to Corning Gold 37 – 32. However, with only one more week of competition, Hornell’s record of 4-1 will stand and they have clinched the division title! Corning Black was victorious over Bath-Haverling 37 – 15.
Addison also had their first loss in the Medium-Large school division with a 39 – 22 loss to Canisteo-Greenwood. Naples bested Campbell-Savona 59 – 13. This division is still up for grabs as Naples and Canisteo-Greenwood remain within striking range.
In the Medium-Small school division Arkport defeated Hammondsport 48 – 28, while Alfred-Almond earned another victory outscoring J-T 37 – 22. Next week will decide the division title for A-A or Arkport Finally Canaseraga scored a 35 – 28 victory over Avoca, handing them their first defeat of the season. Both teams go into next week’s final match with a 4-1 record. Prattsburgh had their first win this year, outscoring Bradford in a close 28 – 26 contest.
