To score 1,000 points in a career is an impressive feat. But to do it on a balanced scoring and successful team is almost impossible.

On Wednesday night, Canisteo-Greenwood senior Hunter McCaffery achieved that milestone when he cruised in for a layup and his 1,000th career point.

McCaffery finished with a game-high 20 points as Canisteo-Greenwood defeated Arkport-Canaseraga, 65-36.

Arkport-Canaseraga was determined to keep the game close, draining six three pointers from three different players.

However, Canisteo-Greenwood’s Mason Boyd became a 3-point machine all by himself in the decisive third quarter as C-G scored 28 points. Boyd scored 15 points, all on three-pointers and three of them came in the third quarter.

Cole Ferris had 11 for C-G while Adam Stewart had a 3-pointer and eight points and Maddux Schwartz had seven.

For Arkport-Canaseraga, Michael Gilbert had a team-high 10 while Tim Vilkhu had nine and Logan Hoyt eight.
