CPD reports a DWI arrest and saving a life with NARCAN

By Andrew Harris

All those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court

On Friday March 4th, police pulled over a vehicle traveling in the wrong lane and found an intoxicated driver. After a brief investigation of the driver, age 60 of Greenwood NY, he was arrested for multiple offenses. Police arrested the man for aggravated DWI, DWI, and issued a ticket for Moving from a Lane Unsafely. The accused was issued appearance tickets for Canisteo Court.

On Sunday March 6th, officers responded to an emergency call reporting multiple drug overdoses at a home on Orchard Street in the village of Canisteo. Police responded and immediately provided at least one of three adults who had overdosed NARCAN as a lifesaving measure. The other adults who had overdosed were taken to the local hospital and treated for drug-related injuries. With all three of the drug users stabilized, CPD officers immediately arrested the trio for endangering the welfare of two children at the scene of the overdosing. Jason Coddington of Canisteo, Cory Coddington of Hornell, and Corey Dubie of Canisteo were each booked for two charges of endangering the welfare of a child. The trio were issued appearance tickets for a later date.
