Details are limited at this time, but Hornell City Schools were in a lockdown after a report of a shooting in the Seneca Apartments behind Club 57 today.

Once the Hornell City Police Department had the issue in hand, school officials said the lockdown had been lifted.

The lockdown took place as a “safety concern” only.

An officer at the scene said it did not appear to be a shooting, but they had someone detained for questioning for making the claim.
