Vinnie Martinelli, aka, V-Ry the Sports Guy, is happy to be heading back to Watkins Glen this year to provide the Wellsville and Hornell Sun exclusive coverage of the big race.
We asked V-Ry a few questions ahead of the big weekend:
SUN: You are returning to the Glen!! What about your coverage last year did you enjoy the most ?
V-RY : My favorite part from last years coverage was joining a team owner at his pit stall, as well as meeting the winner Kyle Larson
SUN: As a returning reporter, how will this year be different ?
V-RY: The major difference as a returning reporter is that I now know where I’m supposed to go and what I have access to.
SUN: Getting press credentials isn’t always easy. How are the management at this race to deal with ?
V-RY: The communications department at Watkins Glen Raceway are very easy to work with, they’re extremely accommodating and helpful
SUN: Who are the favorites for the race this year ?
V-RY: Chase Elliot dominants at this track and is favored 5-1 to win, last years winner Kyle Larson is third at 8-1
SUN: Will you be able to catch the Kate Martelle dance show?
V-RY: Yes, I will likely be trackside for their big moment.
