Steuben Safe: Public Safety Training set for September 29 in Bath

Safety Training for Businesses, Houses of Worship and Civic Organizations

Date: Thursday September 29th, 2022

Time: 6pm – 9pm

What: Public Safety Training: 1. Citizen Response to Active Shooter Event (CRASE)

2. De-escalation techniques to manage challenging customers

3. Building and Premise Safety considerations

Where: Bath Haverling High School, 25 Ellas Ave., Bath, New York

This three hour training will consist of Deputy Warriner instructing the US Dept. of Homeland Security CRASE curriculum focusing on avoid, deny and defend. It will also include Corporal Josh Day instructing de-escalation techniques and Deputy Josh VanSkiver instructing building and premise physical security. Deputy Warriner is certified as Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Instructor, Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE), Exterior Response to Active Shooter Events (ERASE), and Solo Officer Response to Active Shooter Events (SORT) Instructor. Corporal Day is a NYS DCJS certified Defensive Tactics Instructor and Force Science De-Escalation Instructor. Deputy VanSkiver is the Commander of Steuben County SWAT Team and Firearms Instructor.

This training is appropriate for all persons interested in establishing or improving security at businesses, organizations and houses of worship.
