Tim Horton’s franchisee expanding stores in Wellsville, Cuba, Hornell and more

The Wellsville Sun broke the story about a Tim Horton’s coming to Wellsville on Route 417 across from McDonald’s inside a new Quicklee’s convenience store and gas station.

Buffalo Business First talked to Blake Tarana, president of TAR Enterprises in Jamestown about the plans to open five more stores in the Southern Tier.

They will also open the first-ever Tim Horton’s drive-thru only store.

Tarana told Buffalo Business First after the new stores open in Jamestown and Olean, the next three will be Wellsville, Cuba and Hornell.

Tarana told Buffalo Business First, “We’re going down the Southern Tier, with the ultimate end game of Binghamton down (Route) 86. We’re putting the first Tim Hortons in that market and trying to expand it into Corning-Elmira.”

Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN) reported the drive-thru only location will be a 900-square-foot building, as the Tim Horton’s with seating are 2,500-square-feet.

Jay Pritchett, Tim Hortons U.S. head of marketing, said in a statement, “Our guests are looking for great service, high-quality coffee and food, and they want to feel safe when visiting Tim Hortons restaurants. Our new restaurant design offers all of that and more.”

NRN said Tim Horton’s wants new locations to have a mobile pick up shelf and VIP mobile order parking spots, a simplified menu and adding energy drinks.

Tim Hortons, founded in 1964 in Canada, has more than 4,800 systemwide restaurants in Canada and around the world. Tim Hortons has 634 units in the United States. Parent Restaurant Brands International also owns the Burger King, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Firehouse Subs concepts.
