Over half of respondents are most concerned about city streets and parking lots
By Andrew Harris
The first reader poll conducted by the Hornell Sun asked which was maintenance issue is most important, sidewalks or potholes? A third choice allowed voters to select, “Hornell has bigger issues.”
52.7% of the votes indicate that potholes were the priority, 18.2% wanted a focus on sidewalk repair, and 29.1% thought that the city should focus on larger issues.
Our reporter and photographer, Syrena Lynn Carver, had recently completed a photo journal of city sidewalks in several lower income neighborhoods.

A new poll question will be posted every Monday and readers are encouraged to contact the us with ideas for questions, [email protected]
