Trunk or Treat in Hornell set for October 29th

Hornell Partners for Growth and Fun 92.1 are in their 3rd year of putting on the Annual Trunk or Treat on Broadway Mall on October 29th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, HPG Businesses will be handing out candy hand out candy rain or shine.  This event is a way for the businesses to give to the community without people having to drive all over the district, providing a safe fun few hours in a central location.  We have High School Seniors working on their community service hours by volunteering to help set up and hand out candy.

   Fun 92.1 sets up with DJ Truth playing Halloween favorites, this year they are collaborating with Alstom and will hand out Pizza King slices and candy.    

    Also, HPG will have a donation box for the Canisteo Valley Community Outreach Committee Coat Drive, they worked with the Hornell Elks Lodge who collected names and sizes needed from the Community Baby Shower, the HPG Event post has a list of what is needed if anyone wants to donate; most of the sizes are for ages 5 and under. 

Other events going on around town.

New Hope Wesleyan Church Trunk or Treat event at the New Hope Community Center at 282 Canisteo Street from 5 – 6 PM. They will also have a Winter Coat Give Away inside the center, limited sizes and styles available. Sunday October 30th from 5 – 6 pm

The American Legion Post 440 Halloween Parade will take place Oct 27 at 6:00 pm, Parade starts at Community Bank parking lot, goes to the Hornell High School.  Children’s Costume Contest, Cider & Donuts at the High School after, Question please contact Jerry at 607-324-5314

Walmart Wednesday October 26, 2022 for Trick or Treating from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.  Not all businesses in the plaza are taking part, I am not sure how they are going to identify who is or is not taking part.  I know Wegmans & Shoe Depot are not. 

St. Ann’s Academy – Trunk or Treat Bottle & Can Drive – Oct 27, 6:00 – 7:30 pm, — Open to anyone who brings recyclables or a donation in exchange for trick or treating. 

City of Hornell – Monday October 31st – Trick or Treating – 6:00 – 8:00 pm
