Canisteo-Greenwood dominates to open Steuben County basketball tournament in 70-24 win

CANISTEO — Every single Canisteo-Greenwood shooter got a hand in the action as the team returned to the floor for the Steuben County Tournament on Wednesday, as the host Redskins flew their way through a first half of epic proportions to set the tone against Campbell-Savona, en route to a 70-24 win.

Four different Redskins shooters all eclipsed double figures to pace the offense across the way, with Thomas Sirianni, Carson Chaffee and JJ Reese all scoring 12 points each to front the attack. Sage Klees added in 10 points, while Aidan Stewart recorded seven.

Canisteo-Greenwood’s attack came to fruition right in the first 16 minute session, posting a pair of 20-point quarters while holding Campbell-Savona in check on the defensive front to garner all the room they needed to ensure an opening round victory.
