Read results and some great ideas for the HCAC

By Andrew Harris

Covid-19 took a big toll on many of the community-oriented operations that we take for granted. As we emerge from that two-year public health emergency, organizations like the Hornell Community Art Center find themselves wondering what is next ?

We asked readers what they thought the future holds for the former Ponderosa. Should they expand event offerings and activities? Focus on youth? Focus on senior citizens? Find a new purpose for the building?

The “other” category allowed readers to place a custom vote, here are some of those ideas:

  • early voting polling place for Hornell school budget and board of education vote
  • Make it back into a restaraunt
  • Roller skating at night for kids & adults! Nice floor there!
  • Bring back the Ponderosa – B.D. Scholes
