The Hornell Public Library hosts and Hornell Police Department delivers free helmets

Spring is just around the corner and Larry Pelkey, now famously known as “The Bikeman,” is ready hold one of his biggest events yet. Since 2021, Pelkey has given away 465 bicycles to friends, nieghbors, and strangers.
On Saturday March 18, “The Bikeman” will be in action at the Hornell Public Library and makes an amazing promise:
“I’m going to give away 50 bikes!!”
Along side Larry will be the Hornell Police Department to give the crowds that are sure to form a lesson in bicycle safety. Like a cherry on top, HPD will be giving away free bike helmets!!!
At 10:30am, kids can participate in a storytime and craft making session !! The amazing HPL staff will help kids make cool decorations for their bicycle spokes!!
Not to cause a mob scene here but this is a First Come First Serve event! If you need a bike, don’t be late. If you are all set in the bike department, stop down and dress up your spokes for the spring!
