Another sold out Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce Wine Walk

Coming out of the pandemic, the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce didn’t know what to expect last year with the Wine Walk.

All 350 tickets were sold and the 15 stores and restaurants were busy all day. At the Beef Haus, Bob Insley supplied his own wine to keep the visitors happy all afternoon.

This year, the chamber gave the public a four-day warning before tickets went on sale. Like a Taylor Swift concert, they were gone in no time.

This year, 400 tickets were sold and there will be 20 stops.

“We just don’t have enough wine stops and we want to keep this in control,” said Bruce Thomas, the executive director of the Wellsville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Maybe down the road if we add more stops we can increase the numbers.”

Thomas said he was told there could be issues if the event is over 500 when it comes to insurance. (Though Wellsville does hold a Balloon Rally, so this probably won’t be an issue!)

The Chamber is thrilled the event sold out, but they sympathize with those who were unable to get tickets in time.

“The other thing is, you don’t want it to get out of control with too many people. If you get over 500 there are other issues and safety issues of that nature, and that’s what I was told during the Brew Fest. I am pleased they sold out, but I know there are people bummed out, but we did give them a warning last Thursday,” Thomas said.

The Brew Fest at Island Park sold out last summer as well. Those ticket numbers expect to increase.

Here are some photos and videos of past events to remind you of the fun!
