I am excited to announce I am running for the 6th Ward alderman position in the City of Hornell.
In September of 2022, I was appointed to fill the unexpired term for this office, and have greatly enjoyed representing the residents of the 6th Ward. I have resided in Hornell for 12 years with my husband, Andrew, and two young children, Cayde and Paige. I am fortunate to both live and work in the 6th Ward, and am currently employed as a Prevention Educator for all schools in western Steuben County through Hornell Area Concern for Youth. This has given me a deep understanding of the needs of our Ward and our community.
I currently serve on the Quality of Life, Planning and Development, and Youth and Recreation Committees, and it has been an exceptionally rewarding experience. I have learned a lot these past few months, and I look forward to continuing to work as an advocate and strong voice for 6th Ward residents.
I am dedicated to my community and committed to helping to continue to make Hornell a great place to live, work, and raise a family. I pride myself on being an active listener and natural-born helper, and pledge to continue to connect residents to the appropriate City department, work to resolve concerns, and improve quality of life.
I will continue to closely collaborate with my fellow Common Council members and City officials to best represent all residents of this great community.
On November 7, 2023, I hope that the residents of the 6th Ward will cast their vote for me, Lita Brown, to continue serving as your alderman.
