James Joshua “Josh” Brown, born in Hornell NY

James Joshua “ Josh” Brown of Greensburg, Kentucky, son of the late Clarence and Betty Brown, was born on January 14, 1955 in Hornell, NY and  passed away on April 29, 2023 at his home of complications of an aggressive brain cancer. 

He had close ties in Almond and  Canaseraga before moving to Holland, NY.

He served in the United States Marine Corp, following that he worked on wetland management and served as a pipeline inspector. In his spare time he enjoyed many building projects using rocks and lumber, having built his home in Greensburg with lumber cut and sawed from trees on his own property.

His survivors include one son, Joshua Paul Brown of Holland, NY, his daughters Melissa Brown and Rosanna Fuller, both of Holland, NY.  Grandchildren Jack and  Simon Brown, Madison Russell, Maddie, Lilly, and Landon Fuller.  He is also survived by his current wife, Donna Hensley Brown.

Two sisters Paula Van Dyke of Belmont, NY and Joy Stuart, Almond, NY.  

Three brothers, Steve Brown of Greensburg, KY, Jack Brown of West Almond, NY and Rex Brown of Trenton, Florida, as well a host of other relatives and friends.

In honor of Josh’s wishes,  cremation was chosen and there were no formal services.
