Crosby Street in the city of Hornell paving planned for May 24-26

Author: Share:

There will be no access to the street or driveways until daily work is complete

The Department of Public Works will be milling and paving Crosby Street on Wednesday May 24, Thursday May 25 and Friday May 26, 2023 (weather dependent).

Due to the inability to effectively detour traffic, milling and paving will take place concurrently.  Crosby Street will be closed to all traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on each of these days, and it will remain closed until work is complete each day, and the new asphalt has cooled.

In order for crews to safely and efficiently resurface the street, please remove all vehicles from the street, and any you may need from your driveway, before 7 a.m. on Wednesday May 24, Thursday May 25 and Friday May 26.  There will be no access to the street or driveways until daily work is complete.  We recommend parking on Grand and High Streets as needed during these times.  Parking is also available at The New Hope Wesleyan Church parking lot on Grand and West Pine Streets.

In order to get ahead of the street closing, trash pick-up (including recyclables) will occur in the 6am hour.  Please make sure all trash and recyclables are placed at the curb Tuesday night (5/23) for all locations on Crosby St., Lily and Maxwell Avenues.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation and understanding while we make these necessary improvements.

If you have any questions, please contact Department of Public Works Superintendent Mitchell Cornish at 607-324-7421.
