Darryl J. “Hollywood” Conley, 58, Hornell

Darryl J. “Hollywood” Conley – 58 – of 23 ½ Main St., Hornell, died Tuesday afternoon (July 18, 2023) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester where he had been taken after being stricken in Hornell.

Born in Bath, NY on December 15, 1964, he was the son of Clarence & Andrea (Malion) Conley.

Darryl grew up in Florida and attended Van Guard High School in Ocala, FL.  He later briefly served his country as a member of the US Army National Guard. 

Throughout the years, Darryl lived in several locations, including Florida, Oklahoma, Arizona, Scio, NY, Wellsville, NY and has resided in the Hornell area for the past 10 years.  He had been employed for a time at ACES Cleaning in Hornell, serving both business & residential properties.  For the past several years he was employed at Lowes of Hornell and had worked in the Lumber Department, Appliance Department and more recently in the Lawn & Garden Department. 

Darryl was an avid bicyclist who enjoyed taking long, long bike rides throughout the countryside.  He enjoyed visiting casinos and was known to “Make a Wager or Two.”  He was an avid Miami Dolphin (NFL) fan and a New York Yankee fan (MLB).  Darryl also loved taking long car rides and enjoying the beauty of nature.  He was also a self-proclaimed “Home-Body” who loved simply watching TV and playing with his loving dog, “ABBEE”. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his father, Clarence; his nephew, Liam Conley; along with several aunts & uncles.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Tammy Brackett; his daughters, Karilynn Lubin & Staci Lubin; “step-children”, Patricia Brackett, Danielle Zuppinger and Brian Merry;  his mother, Andrea (Ron) Benedict of Hornell; 3 sisters, Janice (Dave Thompson) Towner of Greenwood, Jackie (Frank) Bizzotto-Conley of Chicago, IL and Adriane (Bob) Ackerman of Palm Coast, FL; 2 brothers, David (Linda) Conley of Ocala, FL and Dwayne (Barbra) Conley of LaGrange, GA; several grandchildren; “step-grandchildren” along with several other relatives.

At Darryl’s request there will be no calling hours.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with final interment in Knights Creek Church Cemetery, Scio, NY

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.
