“A Brush with Kindness” is an all-day effort with over 60 volunteers
On August 16th, Steuben County Habitat for Humanity will hold a Brush with Kindness Event in the Village of Prattsburgh, NY. More than 60 volunteers are expected to help with this neighborhood revitalization project. Steuben County Habitat for Humanity is partnering with; The Town of Prattsburgh, Empire Access, Prattsburgh Rotary, Prattsburgh American Legion, Casella Waste, and Alfred State Civic Leadership and EOP Summer Prep Academy.
A Brush with Kindness is a one-day event that involves volunteers coming together to assist community residents with exterior home repairs. The work will include porch painting/staining, light landscaping, and yard clean-up. Volunteers will meet at 8:30 am near the Village gazebo and work until 3:00 pm.
Despite the recent fire affecting the Steuben County Habitat’s building that houses the ReStore and local Habitat offices, SCHFH felt that this event, that epitomizes their mission of building homes, community, and hope, was too important to postpone. The Prattsburgh community has banded together to help make the Brush with Kindness event successful.
