A Canandaigua man accused of rape is arrested for Tampering with a Witness

Jeff Kuney was already being prosecuted after being arrested for Rape, committing a criminal sex act, and selling drugs in 2022

From the New York State Police,

On August 28, 2023, 45-year-old Jeffery V. Kuney, of Canandaigua, NY, was arrested for three counts of Tampering with a Witness 3rd (E Felony) and three counts of Criminal Contempt 2nd (A Misdemeanor).  Kuney was found living on his boat in a marina on Oneida Lake (town of Cicero, NY) by State Police Troop D – Felony Warrant Squad, assisted by Cicero Police.  NYSP Canandaigua Investigators obtained arrest warrants after recently receiving complaints that Kuney had violated orders of protection issued to three witnesses against him in upcoming court proceedings.

These orders of protection and subsequent warrants are directly related to two previous arrests of Kuney during the summer of 2022.  On July 25, 2022, he was arrested for Rape 1st (B Felony), and on August 24, 2022, he was arrested for Criminal Sex Act 1st (B Felony) and Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance 3rd (B Felony). Kuney was released from Ontario County Jail on these charges after posting $50,000 bail.

Kuney was processed at SP Canandaigua and taken to Ontario County Jail for CAP arraignment.
