Cornhole for Cancer Benefit Raises Over $4,000 Despite Rainy Weather

DANSVILLE, NY – The 8th Annual Cornhole for Cancer benefit, held at the Union Hose Club House this past Saturday, September 9th, 2023, proved that not even unpredictable weather could dampen the spirit of community support. The event, initially planned to be outdoors, was promptly moved inside due to rain, ensuring that the day’s activities went off without a hitch.

Despite the change in venue, participation was robust, with 40 teams vying for the championship. The competitive spirit and communal support culminated in a whopping $4,050 being raised. These funds will directly benefit Megan Simons, a local resident undergoing cancer treatment, providing her with some financial relief during her challenging journey.

Mystic Media Dot Com, Inc.,had the honor of sponsoring the Championship Round, a testament to their commitment to the community and its well-being. “Seeing the community come together, undeterred by the rain, to support such an important cause was truly inspiring,” shared a representative from Mystic Media.

The event also witnessed the backing of numerous other local businesses, demonstrating the unity and camaraderie of Dansville’s corporate community. Participants and attendees had an array of activities to enjoy. The basket raffle was a  highlight, with attendees praising the quality and variety of the baskets on offer. Sincere appreciation was extended to all who contributed to the basket donations, adding to the day’s success.
