State Police: Addison man died after truck struck guide rail in Andover

From the New York State Police:

On September 28, 2023, at 2:43 P.M., Troopers out of SP Amity responded to a one vehicle collision at the intersection of County Route 22 and State Route 417 in the town of Andover.

Investigation determined that a 2003 International was traveling north bound on County Route 22 and crosses over the intersection of State Route 417 at a high rate of speed.

The International struck the guiderail and overturns causing the operator, Michael D. Potter, 41 of Addison, NY to be ejected. Potter was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The operator was not wearing a seat belt.

NYSP Collision Reconstruction and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted in this investigation.
