An Addison woman was charged with assault, two Corning men busted for burglary

Assault, Possession of a Weapon Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on September 29, 2023, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dorothy M. Clifton, age 50, of Tuscarora Street, Addison, New York, following an investigation of a reported assault in the Village of Addison on September 3rd, 2023. It is alleged that Ms. Clifton struck another person with a blunt instrument, causing injury. The victim was treated and released at a local medical facility. Ms. Clifton was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a class D Felony and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. Ms. Clifton was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and released.

Burglary and Grand Larceny Arrest

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on September 29, 2023, Investigators of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Manuel Colon, Jr., age 18, of Third Street, Corning, New York, and Malik D. Smith, age 21, of Steuben Street, Corning, New York, following an investigation of a reported burglary in the Town of Erwin on September 16th, 2023. It is alleged that Mr. Colon and Mr. Smith entered a residence without permission and stole property valued in excess of $1,000. Mr. Colon and Mr. Smith were charged with Burglary in the Second Degree, a class C Felony and Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E Felony. Mr. Colon and Mr. Smith were arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and remanded to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of $1.00 bail.
