Teen dies in fatal accident on Sunday in Potter County, two others taken to Jones Memorial

A 16-year-old died after a one-car accident in Potter County on Sunday.

Pennsylvania State Police said two others were injured after the Sunday morning crash, which took place in Bingham Township.

Troopers said the driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old male from Westfield, was driving on Hickox-Ulysses Road when he lost control of the vehicle, went off the road, struck a barn, then continued on striking two trees before coming to a stop.

A 16-year-old from Harrison Valley died from the crash, trooper said. The Potter County Coroner pronounced the passenger deceased at the scene, troopers said. Names were not released.

A 17-year-old female passenger from Ulysses was also in the vehicle and injured.

EMT’s from Wellsville were on the scene assisting for over eight hours with the state police, Genesee Township Volunteer Fire Department and EMS, Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company and PennDOT.

The driver and the 17-year-old female passenger were taken to Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville for injuries. Troopers said the injuries were, “Major and minor.” White’s Towing also assisted at the scene.
