LCAA’S FINEST: Team effort keeps Livonia volleyball on top in LCAA D-I

LIVONIA – Host Livonia stayed on top of the LCAA D-I volleyball standings following their sweep over Bath-Haverling Monday night at the Tom Downey Gymnasium.

Livonia won by scores of 25-23, 25-14, 25-16 to improve to 5-0 in the division and 11-2 overall.

In what was a total team effort, Livonia had several players contribute to the victory as Lillie Capecci had six kills with four assists and three aces while Julie Renner added nine assists with five service aces.

Hannah Ingram chipped in with six kills, two aces, one block and one dig while Ava Simmons tallied three kills and two aces. Caroline Cendoma added two aces and one kill while Morgan Meys, Megan Tumminelli, and Eliza Gillespie each added a kill. Jenna Gorton contributed a dig for the Lady Bulldogs.

Also in attendance, the Little Spikers – grades K through fifth – put on a show between the JV and varsity matches as they showcased their passing, setting, hitting, and serving skills.

Up next, Livonia will begin Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is sponsored by the Livonia Booster Club as the team will wear pink jerseys for the month of October as each game we will be honoring a cancer survivor.

Livonia will host Avon Wednesday night as the team will be spotlighting alumni and former volleyball player Amanda Patterson.
