GIRLS SOCCER
Mount Morris 2, Perry 1
Shaniese Brown scored the game-winner 1:15 into the second OT as M-M nipped Perry in LCAA D-III action Friday.
Brown’s goal came off a thru ball from Adrianan Mann.
Brown opened the scoring for M-M with a goal with 14 minutes left off another Mann assist.
But just 24 seconds later, Perry’s Courtney Westfall tied the game with a long shot from 25 yards out.
The victory gave M-M their fifth win of the year.
“I am so proud of the performance of the girls tonight,” M-M head coach Matt James said. “The win was a total team effort. There was no doubt the passion these girls had tonight. I am so proud of these girls and the work they have put in this season.”
