LCAA’S FINEST
LIVONIA – Livonia coach Ray Maxwell thought his Bulldogs got outplayed in the first half of their quarterfinal against Le Roy Saturday night.
But the No. 2 seed survived.
Thanks to Brady O’Keefe.
The junior scored the lone goal of the game in the 75th minute as Livonia edged past No. 7 Le Roy 1-0 in Class B quarterfinal action.
O’Keefe’s goal was assisted by James Spezzano.
It was O’Keefe’s fourth goal of the season.
He was also named “Man of the Match” by coach Maxwell.
Livonia keepers Kaidan O’Connor and Gavin Woolston combined to post their 11th shutout.
“LeRoy was fantastic and outplayed us the first half,” coach Maxwell said. “One of the toughest opponents we’ve seen in a long time.”
Livonia (16-1-1) advances to play Hornell in Wednesday’s semifinals.
Hornell defeated Bath 4-1.
“We’ll have to be at our absolute best after squeaking this one out tonight,” coach Maxwell said. “We have to contain Jack Emo and Wyatt Evingham and that’s not easy. We’ll do our best over the next few days to be ready.”
