Big cheers to James J.D. Tette, a senior at Penn Yan Academy, for clinching the Mustangs’ very first state championship in cross country this Saturday. Tette gave it his all and left 131 of the top runners in New York State trailing behind as he blazed through the 5K race, clocking in at an impressive 16:13.

Back in September, this seasoned sectional champ had shared one of his season’s goals with WFLR’s Lucas Day: to secure a state championship. Well, mission accomplished!

What’s up next for JD? He’s gearing up for the Federation’s race next Saturday in Poughkeepsie, ready to take on more challenges and chase more victories!

Congrats from NY Landquest
