On Saturday, November 18th, Maple City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center brought the community of Hornell, NY together for its highly anticipated First Annual Turkey Trot, a festive event that combined fun, fitness, and community spirit. The event, held at Veterans Memorial Park, saw residents and locals alike donning their athletic shoes and turkey-themed accessories to participate in this lively tradition.

The Maple City Turkey Trot was honored to have Mayor John Buckley there as he said “welcome Maple City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center to Hornell, and I’m excited for them to be here under their new ownership”. His presence added a special touch to the event, reinforcing the strong sense of community that Maple City Rehabilitation and Nursing strives to foster.

The festivities kicked off with a DJ, energizing snacks and participants of all ages who danced, jogged, and trotted their way through the scenic course, enjoying the autumn air and the camaraderie of fellow participants.

Giving back to the community was a theme that continued as large boxes of donated canned goods were gifted to the local food pantry; allowing so many more members of Hornell to celebrate the holiday with dignity. Turkey dinners were also raffled off to 3 very lucky winners as well!

The Maple City Annual Turkey Trot is a testament to the facility’s commitment to promoting health, happiness, and community engagement. By bringing together residents, local leaders, and the wider community, Maple City Rehabilitation and Nursing is creating lasting connections that extend far beyond the trotting track. “Maple City Rehabilitation and Nursing Center’s first annual Turkey Trot 5K was a huge success! We were honored to see so many participate and give to our local food pantry. We are truly blessed to be part of this generous and loving community!”
