A car accident on Long Island would have been fatal without Jeff Jijy’s intervention

2023 Alfred State graduate Jeff Jijy and two of his friends are credited with saving the life of driver after her Tesla burst into flames in Garden City Park, NY.

Jijy was a cyber security major at ASC and participated on the cross country and track & field teams. He was also part of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
First responders praised Jijy, Brian Lowe, and Justin Morillo who ran out of a nearby house and pulled the woman from the vehicle. Fire officials made it clear that the trio saved the woman’s life as the entire vehicle burst into flames just after she was removed by Jijy and friends.
