High School Seniors and Families: Alfred State to host Financial Aid Day this Saturday

Alfred State financial aid counselors will be available to speak with students and their families on Feb. 17. The event will help attendees complete their 2024-25 FAFSA and the NYS Payment Application

ALFRED, NY, February 12, 2024 – The Office of Student Records and Financial Services will host a Financial Aid Day on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 9 a.m. to Noon.  The program will begin in the Student Leadership Center.

The Student Records and Financial Services Office staff will assist students and their guests in completing and submitting the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the NYS Payment Application to apply for the NYS TAP Grant.  Admissions Information Sessions and Campus Tours will also be offered.

Students/parents can register by going to engage.suny.edu/portal/financial_aid_days. This workshop is open to all prospective college students and their families, including those who do not plan to attend Alfred State. Registrants will receive a confirmation email details for the event.

Prior to SUNY Financial Aid Day, participants should obtain: a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa (allow one to three business days for the Social Security Administration to verify information).

SUNY’s statewide Student Financial Aid Days are offered as a service to all prospective college students and their families. The programs are designed to answer questions and provide assistance regarding the financial aid application, and the types of aid available.

Thirteen programs will be offered across New York State on Feb. 17. Students and parents should feel free to attend the program closest to where they live.
