Learn the Specifics of NY’s Equal Rights Amendment at Christ Episcopal Church

HORNELL, NY —  The public is invited to join members of Freedom Writers and Indivisible Hornell on Saturday, April 6th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 6 Center St., Hornell, for an overview of the New York Equal Rights Amendment.  This ballot measure will be voted on in November’s general election.

The New York State Equal Rights Amendment adds explicit protections to New York’s State Constitution for people who experience governmental discrimination based on ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, and sex—including sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and pregnancy outcomes, reproductive healthcare, and autonomy.

These groups are gathering to show early enthusiasm for the ballot measure, to explain how it expands on existing protections, and to educate people about the importance of voting yes.
