Preparing for injuries and active shooters
From the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office,
SWAT Division: This month members of the Steuben County Sheriff’s SWAT team held a tactical medical and officer down/rescue training day. Training of this nature allows the team to simulate applying tactical medical life saving measures to an injured deputy and then carrying the deputy out of the woods for a couple miles distance. In addition, the team ran scenarios where they had to save civilians involved in active shooter situations. Regular training allows our deputies to keep their skills sharp and ultimately saves lives.

Thank you to the members of the SCSO SWAT Team; we appreciate all you do to be ready for any situation!
