The Salamanca Lizards get rolled 17 – 6
From the Hornell Steamers,
The Hornell Steamers ran their winning streak to five games with a 17-6 victory over the Salamanca Lizards. The Steamers are now 9-5 on the season.
Hornell got on the board in the 2nd when Finn Ellis (Charleston) led off the inning and came around to score on a wild pitch.
In the 3rd, Jackson Legg (LSU Eunice) hit a sac fly and Brody Langlotz (Gulf Coast CC) followed with a RBI single.
Wyatt Argentieri (Genesee CC) hit a two-RBI triple in the 4th and came around to score on an Elijah Nichols (Arkansas State) double.
Salamanca fought back in the middle innings to tie the game at 6-6. Lucas Marsh collected a RBI single and Harley Hoag walked with the bases loaded in the 4th and Andrew Hartman collected a RBI single in the 5th. In the 6th, Maxwell Rogers hit a two-run single and Hartman tied it with a RBI double.

In the 7th, Ellis scored on a throwing error, Jeremy Yanow (Webster) collected a RBI single, and Argentieri made it 9-6 with a RBI fielder’s choice.
Hornell sent 14 batters to the plate in the 8th and put the game out of reach with eight runs. Ellis hit a RBI single, Ty Kenney (Houghton) drew a bases loaded walk, Yanow drove in a run on an error, Argentieri drew a bases loaded walk, Nichols, Alex Dupuy (LSU Eunice), and Cooper Dailey (Delgado CC) were hit by pitches with the bases loaded and Langlotz hit a RBI single.
Nicols and Langlotz were each 3 for 5 with 2 RBI while Ellis was 3 for 5 with a RBI.
Shawn Kimball (Genesee CC) struck out six in 2.1 innings of work to earn the win out of the Hornell bullpen. He only allowed one hit.
The Steamers travel to Dansville on Monday for a 5 p.m. contest with the Gliders
