Thursday night just after 9:30 p.m., a Facebook post went up on the social media site for the school announcing the superintendent has resigned.
A press release did not go out to the media as it did when the last project was approved or budgets were passed. The statement said David Foster, the superintendent, would be taking a position at “Cattaraugus Little Valley Schools” and listed his accomplishments.
At a recent school board meeting, the board, with three members who were not voted back in, voted to give Foster an extension on his current contract.
Here is the full one paragraph statement which is on social media:
Wellsville Central Schools Announces Superintendent David Foster’s Resignation Wellsville, NY – The Wellsville Central School District is announcing the resignation of Superintendent David Foster, effective August 26, 2024. Mr. Foster, who has served as Superintendent since 2017, will leave to become Superintendent of Cattaraugus Little Valley Schools and rejoin his family in that area.
