The Hornell Steamers scored in five of six innings en route to a 14-3 victory over the Salamanca Lizards on Sunday. The Steamers improve to 12-6-1 on the season.

The Steamers got on the board in the 1st when Braden McLin (Louisiana Christian) hit a sacrifice fly.

In the 2nd, Alex Dupuy (LSU Eunice) scored on a wild pitch, Markus Brehm (Finger Lakes CC) hit a RBI double, and Elijah Nichols (Arkansas State) made it 4-0 with a RBI single.

In the 3rd, Finn Ellis (U of Charleston) collecte a RBI groundout, Ty Kenney (Houghton) hit a sac fly, Ellis stole home on a double steal, Brehm collected a RBI single and scored on an error.

In the 5th, Kenney scored on an error and McLin hit another sac fly to make it 11-0.

Salamanca got on the board in the 6th when Tyler Curtis doubled and scored on a throwing error and Gabe Roth hit a two-RBI single.

In the bottom of the 6th, Nichols hit a two-RBI double and Brody Langlotz (Gulf State CC) followed with a RBI single.

Brehm was 3 for 4 with 3 RBI while Nichols was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI.

Eli Fuselier (Nunez CC) earned the win with seven innings of work. He allowed five hits, three runs, and five walks while striking out six. 

Hornell continues a busy week of games on Monday when they travel to Olean for a 7 p.m. game with the Oilers.
