Have you noticed some additional color in downtown Alfred ?

Weekly at the Alfred Farmers Market, there is fun under the Activities Tent. Youth Volunteers assist children of all ages with crafts and activities. Several weeks ago, attendees painted rocks to place around Alfred. Volunteers, Luca Regineo and Cohen Cumberbatch placed the stones around Alfred campuses and streets last Sunday. If you find one that catches your attention, take a pic to share on the Market Facebook Page. Take it home and place it where you can enjoy it.
The Alfred and Almond libraries have provided activities too. This week, Patsy Rausch will be back with her bicycle-powered paper-making skills.
The First AFM Zucchini 500 comes to the Alfred Farmers Market on Sunday, July 21st! This event is open to zucchini car builders aged 12 and under. If older kids and adults want to participate; a separate race will be offered. Stop by the Manager’s Tent this Sunday and pick up a car kit package and instructions. Let your imaginations run wild and join in the fun!
A big thank you to Yuri Lake, Lilianna Winters, and Alex Gagne for their help with the stone painting activity. Other volunteers who help regularly are Aiden Link, Rona Powers, and Faye Powers. These local kids help set up, work the activity tent, and tear down each week. They are committed to the mission of the market and building community.
